Our story began behind the bar at a Christmas party at Eckl’s at Larkin. What started as two bartenders working the same event quickly turned into a genuine friendship built on laughter, easy conversation, and a natural connection neither of us expected. As the months went on, that friendship grew into something more.
At the end of February 2020, life threw us our first big plot twist. Shannon made the decision to move to New York City to attend a coding bootcamp. Right before she left, we finally shared what had been in our hearts all along we both had deeper feelings for each other. It was emotional, uncertain, and hopeful all at the same time. Just one week after arriving in NYC, the world shut down due to COVID. Suddenly, everything changed, and fate brought us back together in the most unexpected way. From that moment on, we’ve been by each other’s side ever since.
In March of 2021, we took another big step and moved in together, officially becoming a little family with our dog Bruce and our cat Norma. Our home quickly filled with laughter, love, fur, and plenty of chaos in the best possible way. During quarantine, we spent countless days at Chestnut Ridge Park, turning long afternoons into board game marathons, quiet talks, and memories we’ll carry forever. Those slow, simple days taught us how to truly grow together, find joy in the ordinary, and build the foundation of the life we now share.
It was in that very park, our favorite place during, that Alex planned the sweetest surprise. Surrounded by the place that held so many of our favorite memories, he got down on one knee and asked the question that would change everything. And with a full heart and happy tears, the answer was an easy yes.
From a Christmas party to a global shutdown, from friendship to forever, every twist in our story has led us right here. Now, as we prepare for our next chapter, we’re so excited to celebrate the love, the journey, and the future we are building together hand in hand, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
