Our story began behind the bar at a Christmas party at Eckl’s at Larkin. What started as two bartenders working the same event quickly grew into a genuine friendship. It was easy, fun, and natural from the very start. Over time, that friendship became something more.
At the end of February 2020, things took a significant turn when Shannon moved to New York City to attend a coding bootcamp. Just before the move, we finally admitted what had been building between us. The timing was far from ideal, but it was honest and real. One week after arriving in NYC, the world shut down due to COVID-19. In an unexpected way, that chaos brought Shannon back to Buffalo, and us closer together. We have been side by side ever since.
During quarantine, we spent countless afternoons at Chestnut Ridge Park, playing board games and simply enjoying each other’s company. Those quiet moments helped shape the foundation of the life we are building together.In March of 2021, we moved in together and became a family, complete with our dog Bruce and our cat Norma. Our home quickly filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos.
That same park became the setting for one of the most meaningful moments in our story. At our favorite spot, Alex got down on one knee and asked Shannon to marry him. With full hearts and happy tears, the answer was an easy yes.
From a Christmas party to everything that followed, each step led us here. We cannot wait to celebrate with the people who mean the most to us as we begin this next chapter together.
